I really dont understand what everyone is talking about you have to charge it twice. my speed came out of the box fully charged and rdy to rock. iv shot bout half a case through it no drop off and awsome consistancy. less i got a "magic" speed, do they all come charged?

I thought that mine came charged too because I turned it on and the battery was full. Just to make sure though I fully charged it twice. You have to do this because this battery is a specific battery that will only charge to how much you charge it the first time. So if you charge your battery for 2 hours the first time you charge it so its about half way charged, the next time it needs charging it will only charge half way.

Hope this helps,

I played a whole day out of the box without problem but the next day I had fsdo for 3 games then my gun went dead completely.

That is why you want to fully charge your speed twice before using, even if it came fully charged.

umm the bateries are made so they dont have a memory like that. the old old lcd batteries had that problem. this gun should have no problem charging for an hour say the first time then doing a full 4 hour charge the second.

Yes, these batteries aren't supposed to have a memory, but they still need to be completely charged. Who knows why, just do it. Board's gauge could be wrong, who knows.

IF the battery doesn't have a memory then why do you need to fully charge it twice?

i dont think you need to charge it twice. i think some people are just retarted. everyone i know up here has had no problems with their speeds just charging after a day of play. and the angel techs at badlands where i got my gun from with the lifetime warrenty say that the FDSO on the speeds has nothing to do with the battery at all. so i dont know who to belive.

xadin: ask these geniuses what the cause is.

actually a battery without much power left will not power the solenoid enough so yeah that would give you FSDO.....that is why people with FSDO related to not charging can hear the solenoid sounds quiter on the first shot.....this hasn't happened to me tho.

I haven't experienced FSDO since that fateful night.......but my bro played sun after letting his gun sit for a while. It was charged but he had some fsdo so we were going to turn up the dwell a bit a see what happens.

The battery doesn't come fully charged. The board just shows it being full. I don't know why, but it does.

The manual say's 4 hours, but it will take much longer then that. I had to change my up the first time for around 8 hours before it stopped.

The reason for charging it twice is the battery will get hot, and it will stop charging before it is full. When you charge it for a long time, you need to let it cool off after it stops. 30 mins later charging it again so it will be fully charged.

The battery doesn't have a memory effect like the old batteries did, but they still need a full charge the first time.

It isn't smart to charge up the battery all the time. That will wear it out quicker. Even if you play every weekend most people aren't going to need to charge up the gun more then twice a year. It gets a ton of shots.

also here's a little tip. Charge the marker right out of the box until it's full. Then, play with it if you need to, then drain the battery completely. Leave it on overnight. It has an auto shutoff after a couple hours, so turn it back on in the morning. Do this for a couple days if need be. It allows the battery to have a full uncharge-charge cycle, and will fix most of the problems associated with the battery.
