View Full Version : Ramrod barrel
I was wondering if anyone has ever used the "crossfire ramrod" barrel. I saw it on an LCD for sale on ebay. Also I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get my hands on one to put on my C&C Special Edition LCD.

a buddy of mine bought one years ago when they came out. The idea behind it is sound...you only need the back couple of inches of the barrel anyways, so why not remove the rest of the barrel so that if you blow up a ball, or it's raining, or theirs dirt etc etc it doesn't affect your accuracy....well it's extremely loud!!! It is decently accurate, I mean as accurate as any other barrel out there....
Would you happen to know if they are still available? If so where would I be able to buy one?

They were made by crossfire paintball.Haven't seen them in awhile.I was given four of them to field test and the crossfire guys weren't even interested in the results.Extemely loud and you lose about 30 fps when changing from a normal barrel, but if you really want one here is the phone number (616)344-7600 ask for Chris Havlock-he's the owner.Keep in mind this number is from late 99 early 2000,so the area code or number may have changed.Michigan!we get new area codes every other week.Good luck!

I believe the idea was that it's easier to shoot through junk when you have a ramrod vs a standard barrel. In reality, it's porting taken to the extreme. There is no practical benefit in normal games to have such a barrel, with the possible exception that it'll help the opponents know where you're shooting from.

The concept is as described above. Chris abandoned the project when he there was not much interest. The concept was really geared toward field owners who could watch newer players shoot through anything.
I interviewed Chris for PB2x back in the day. I am positive that he is not making them anymore but he might sell you one he has in his warhouse if he has one.

my friend has one. It doesnt have bad efficency, but it is the loudest thing ever. It actaully is sweet as far as chopping is concerned. I was about to buy one, but then i remembered i had sensi.
my local store has about 25 of them, i don't know if they picked them up from a clearance or sumthing, but hey are brand new. I'll check prices and threads

I wouldn't get one, stick with conventional barrels for now. They are decent accurasy wise, and LOUD, liek others mentioned above.

i had one and regret selling it. the were by far the best barrel if you have old are crappy paint. you can chop all day long and not see any drop in accuracy. yes, they were loud and heavy but a pretty decent barrel. even worked pretty well in the rain, since the ball ran on the rails, the rain could not affect the drag on the ball. they were pretty efficient too, since you only needed the air to push the ball through the short control bore.
Dark2k2- let me know if you can find any cocker threaded ram rods. i want another one.
The number you put down is no longer in service. You know what city in Michigan the number was in? I tried calling 411 and they said they needed the city to locate the current number. Would you also happen to know as to where else I could find one?
