rechargables don't lest as long as normal NiMh batteries, but you can use them without any problem.
however A. Schilling from odessy told a friend of mine that some halo B models drain the batteries when they turned off. To prevent this from happening you should just disconnect the battery holder..

it's possible you might have something binding causing an overload on the moter and therefore draining your batteries a lot faster as well.
and just like with any other hopper, always remove your batteries when not in use to save them.

rechargables don't have as high a voltage as alkaline cells (1.2v compared to 1.25V)
and - it's always a bad idea to mix batteries (even different brands)

Use lithium batteries they last longer, and are lighter...

Alkaline AA batteries are actually rated at 1.5V same as with Lithiums. The Lithiums are just a lot lighter when you combine 6 of then to make 9 volts. If you wanna use rechargeables, use Rayovac Rechargeable Alkaline. They are rated at 1.5V each and can be recharged many times over and provide the full maximum voltage of a normal AA.
