MY team is going through a lot now I;m the team captain of team shadow regime and there are problems with the players. First of all, one of my team members invited another player onto the team and i dont even know him, so i said he couldnt join. the team member agreed and to help the team out i got another two players from my school who played a long time ago. I want them on the team, but my friend is all mad at me cuz he wants one of them off the team. what should i do?

if you are the leader you have to make him respect you and your deicsions

Take this for what it worth from the old Gunny. Leadership is a learned talent, it takes a lot to be able to look at your friends and tell them no or whatever. Everyone has their own style and it will take you a bit to learn yours. For now remind your friend that YOU are the Capt. And are due the respect, which must also be earned, that goes with that position.

So i tell him that im the captain which, we never said anything about that, I sorta took it over. But even with that in mind, I'm supposed to tell him that I am captain?!?! He'll say F-off and he'll go to another team, and i cant afford that

I have a VERY similar problem. but only I'm in your friends position... You are the captain, and yes you have the decision to kick anyone off your team... but you did the same thing to your friend... You said you dont want to play with anyone you dont know, but you invite two players he doesnt even know?? and matman1, if the captain is to get respect, then he should respect the other players wants also. In other words, if your team member invites someone, just check him out. and he'll do the same. no he cant just kick that player off... its your decision, but LISTEN to him, thats all.

i dont agree with you ir3ballah, i think that i should find another player. i have four now and i only need one more. I am the captain so he can be on the team or not. i should be able to get whoever i want on the team no matter what my team members say. If they want someone i dont know, ill just say no like aeconfam said. and if he gets off, then ill get someone else

i disagree, you have to show him whos boss

ok, so your going to loose one of your friends who is probably good, just because your the captain and you could say no. whats your reasoning for saying no??? what about this player who the guys wants to get out? is HE any good??? i think you get the reasoning why your friend wants him out

Again, you're the Capt wether by default or not. You need to decide, would you rather lose this one player or the respect and confidence of the others? No-one ever said the job would be easy that leadership thing can get pretty heavy at times. IR3Ballah has a point about listening to him. Solicate inputs if you want but once you make your decesion stand by it. If it leaves you with an open spot hold tryouts to fill it. Then you know you get the type player you're looking for.

sorry i put submit accidentually

ok. the guy that doesnt like the other guy is named Freddy Kerp. Freddy wants Jim off the team. me and freddy played a tourny with another guy, mark and got 15th place. freddy is really good thats why i dont really want him off. mark is sucks and has a spyder. after the tournament, freddy asked if a guy could be on the team, cuz we were going to make a 5man team. i said no cuz i didnt know him, and freddy agreed and said we should get people that we both know. at this time, we didnt have a captain and i sortof kept saying im captain im captain, as a joke and mark didnt care who was captain. then i got two people from my school one from my neigbhorhood, jim and nick. jim and nick arent good, but theyre cool to me. freddy doesnt like jim because they get into a lot of fights and nick agrees with freddy. so if i kicked freddy off, then nick will leave too probably.

ask yourself this: do I want to win, or do I want to only have my friends on my team?

friends come and go, but a team that ticks like clockwork together will dominate and stay together. I have LOTS of friends that live really close by me that play paintball, but I would never replace one of my teamates with one of them. My friends that are not on my team obviously do not want to win as much as I, and my team, want to win. We are on a team for one reason and one reason only, and that is to be the best. My team spends 6/7 days together and we know each other better than brothers. We gel together, and win together. We had one guy on our team a few weeks ago that was a decent individual player, but wasn't much of a team member, so we got rid of him and brought someone on the team that has both individual and team skills. We are all still friends w/ the guy we demoted to B team and nothing has changed between us personally...

I guess the moral of my story is that if you want to be a good team, you dont always need the friends you have now on that team.. go to your field, find the talent...friendships come later...

so if i was to have players to win the game, i would pick freddy. Jim really sucks and never comes to practice. so your saying to get jim off the team? and what do i do about freddy?

IR3Ballah

i think you should consider apologizing to freddy cuz you got other players on your team that he doesnt know, yet you dont accept anyone that you dont know.
