I am just wondering what the difference between recycling a thread and deleteing a thread is. Are all threads eventually recycled and deleted. Also, if a thread is deleted then doest that mean that post counts go down?
If a mod deletes a thread, it's gone completely, you lose all posts you had, and no one can read it because it's.... deleted. If a thread is put in recycling, you can still read it, keep your post count, but cannot post in the thread anymore.

Anothere similar question is if a thread is deleted, and you started the thread, is your karma point deleted??? Along the same lines, if in a post on that thread that is deleted you get a karma point from someone do you lose that too??? Just wondering, as the topic is very similar...
Sincerely,

i dont think you lose it, the only way to lose it is if someone takes it away
Your karma stays, but you can't read the comment if someone left one.

normally we try to recycle a thread instead of just deleting it. This allows us to remove a thread from normal circulation as well as post why it was closed and recycled.
You don't lose any Karma, or posts.
If the thread is deleted you don't lose any Karma, but you do lose post counts. Hence the reason threads with excessive post whoring will result in getting deleted and your post counts going down as a result
