I have an angel speed with the mini-reg gutted. I am running my angel air (with low pressure mod) directly into my gun. It's a pain in the ass to turn my air's reg off each time I fill my tank. Is it safe to just leave it set to my desired output all day, or will this blow every o-ring in my gun at some point during filling?

it leaves pressure running into ur gun which could unneccessarily wear out the internals by leaving constant pressure on them I THINK

dont quote me on this

Keeping constant pressure on the guns internals is no problem. What I'm affraid of is, getting a huge spike from filling the tank. A constant 250psi is fine for the gun, but a blast of 4500psi is not. Will the air (while still outputting 250psi or so) spike like this while it's being filled?

Don't quote me on this but I think the AIRs PRV will prevent any kind of spike of that magnitude. Not sure what a spike of around 800psi would do to the Speeds internals, but perhaps one of the Mods or Techs would be better equipped to answer your question.

a burst of 800psi to the internals isn't going to hurt them......you'll obviously be shooting hot for the time being tho.....anything over 850 will lift the overpressure relief

Jim from Impact had a thread that talked about what can happen if you don't depressurize the reg before every fill. I've found that normally if you've got about about 1500psi you should be okay without depressurizing, but I also rebuild and clean my reg every 3 months :dunno: and that's by choice.

i would get a in line on/off, they work really nice w/ AIR :)

unfortunately that would only work after the output......there is no way to take the pressure off the reg without unscrewing the adjustment screw all the way out

You never know what could happen, but after asking some A.I.R owners at my local field, none of them turn it down while filling, nor do I. It has been filled 4 or 5 times so far with no problem, but you never know. They also leave it aired up when not playing, and no problems as of yet.

don't do it, my AIR will once in a while spike and go into "hp" which is excess of 850 psi, i wouldn't fill it with it runing gas into the gun, hell I wouldn't use an AIR wihtout a secondary regulator.

How about an '03 conquest? Can I run that without a second reg? I really dig the look of those, nice and light and cheap.

well, compared to the air it is. it looks pretty light too. I might have to pick one up.
