Pop-Ups

Today when i left for work....about 9:30 am i shut everything down on my desktop. Just now when i got home at about 4:30 i had 67 pop-ups on my desktop. Most of them were telling me how to get rid of pop-ups....irony?

Any1 else have this same problem?

Check to see what processes are running.. you can have a lot of spy ware... run adware to get rid of it.. Most people have spyware on their computers..

Depending on your OS... you can run MSCONFIG and find out what is running on startup and get rid of it.

yea I keep getting the windows messenger pop ups telling me how to get rid of pop ups, its sooo annoying.

Bros on a side note its been just released this month is www.donotcall.gov and it will rid you of most annoying phone calls from the BS telemarketers. I registered the first day it started and now when I get home I dont have the usual 2-3 messages from those type of companies. Havent had a BS call yet so its just a heads up for you all. It would be nice if the internet could do the same with pop ups and useless arse e mails. But this is just a start of riddin the harassing phone calls and you can enter up to 3 #s at one time and all you need is a valid email addy to do it. It's a start like I said and pass the word on to your buds.

hey hep, so how does that no call deal work. i have heard that it just blocks phone calls and i have also heard that it just takes your name off of the call list. which is it or is it somthing completely different?

i hate those new pop ups. They say to get rid of these Illegal pop ups then go to this site. I go there and they say you have to pay for them to stop, but they are the oens sending them. And pop up killer wont detect them.

the no call list means that your name and number are on a list, and if any telemarketer calls you, they are subject to fines of up to like $10,000. Too bad the list doesn't take effect until like Oct or Nov...something like that. If it works it'll be worth it.

ya its not effective till oct, and i dont think theres a way to get ride of all of the pop-ups just some
