How is this data gathered? Does it do rankings using sites only associated with Alexa? Or is 126,384 out number relative to all websites? Because if we are being included in all websites 126,384 seems really high.

I'm assuming that's out of all the websites on the internet. If you look Yahoo is ranked number 1. I believe it's based on number of hits and/or unique users. Yeah we may not be in the 100,000 websites, but we are ranked higher than some of the other more established websites out there.

well, Yahoo is associated with Google which is associated with Alexa (at least thats how I think it works). Is there any way to find some really obscure website and see if it is ranked?

just type in any website address and it will give you some stats on it.

I didn't create the site, nor do I know anything about it. I just happened to find it, and plugged in AOG to see how we ranked.

I was just curious is all. I had to take an insane amount of statistics classes for my major so its become second nature to ask anoying questions about dumb stuff.

Still, our ranking seems really high.

*edit* it seems that Internet Explorer sends anonymous statistics to a data base just for the sake of this website. How useless....
