dont do it, you will fry the motor. spend a little more cash and buy some lithium batteries. 8 lithiums weighed less than four std duracells.

The guys at Odyssey say yes it is possible, but they certainly don't recommend it. Running a single 9v will lower your feed rate, and as mentioned I believe it also has some adverse affects on your motor and electronics. The TSA I'm not sure about, but I'd stick with your AA's. Although I use an Evlution2 so what do I know :dunno:

definitly stick to AA, i use re-chargable ones.

as you can read in the HALO faq (http://www.odysseypaintball.com/halofaq.html):
>>A- Any type of AA's can be used. From NiMH rechargeable to the cheap discount brands. Lithium's provide the longest life and are very light. Do not attempt to use another size battery such as 9 volts. They can not provide the current required for optimum performance.<<

besides that, i have seen several halo users with burned through motors....

so DON'T use them!!

i didnt know the less than a few ounces between batteries is a "weight problem" of course having lighter stuff puts less stress on the player but I dont think different batteries is going to be noticeable.
