Emailing new password

I read my old my to delete some out of it and I found the email that AOG sent me... It mentioned that if we change are emails in our profile, then we get a new password emailed to us... Whats the point of that??

what if you log in on a public computer, say at school or the library, and someone makes some changes to your account. Wouldn't you like to know about it?
